The firm

Avocat, admitted to the New York and Paris Bars, with more than 10 years of practice in corporate law and transactions. He founded LABIGNE AVOCAT to run his clients’ transactions himself and remain their point of contact once the deal is signed.
A client who brings a transaction to the firm works with the lawyer who negotiates it and drafts the documents, from the first meeting to completion. Timetable commitments are made by the person who keeps them. That is also why the firm takes on a limited number of transactions each year.
Sales and acquisitions of shares in private companies, fundraisings, shareholders’ agreements, warranty and indemnity provisions, intra-group restructurings. Part of the work is cross-border, in particular with Germany, Romania and the United States, and is run in French and English.
In sport, the firm works on capital transactions in clubs, alongside investors coming into them as well as clubs opening their capital. Athletes preparing life after their career can also turn to the firm. See transactions in the sport sector.
A transaction does not end on completion day. On the buy side, the target has to be brought into the group: governance, intra-group agreements, up-to-date registers. On the sell side, the warranty runs for several years, and each claim has to be handled within the contractual deadlines. The firm stays on board for both.
